Mark Pettitt C.D.A
Casting Director | Producer

Mark has been working professionally in the entertainment industry for over thirty years with a career that has encompassed many aspects, from performing and teaching, to casting and producing, and is a full member of the Casting Directors Association.

His first professional theatre appearance came at the age of eleven playing 'Hopcroft Minor' in The Happiest Days of Your Life (Plymouth Theatre Royal), closely followed by the roles of ‘Friedrich‘ in The Sound of Music (Plymouth Theatre Royal), ‘Sir Walter Raleigh’ in Drake (Plymouth Theatre Royal and George Square Theatre, Edinburgh) and a member of Fagin’s gang in Oliver (Plymouth Theatre Royal). Pursuing his passion for performing, he graduated from the Guildford School of Acting in 1994 and was immediately signed to Paul Spyker Management, where for the following six years he performed alongside some of the biggest names in musical theatre in such shows as Evita (UK Tour), Tommy Steele's 'Oh What a Show' (UK Tour and Prince of Wales), Summer Holiday (UK Tour, Hammersmith Apollo and Blackpool Opera House), What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? (Brighton Theatre Royal), Tommy Steele in Concert (UK Tour), Robinson Crusoe (Cardiff New Theatre) and Saturday Night Fever (London Palladium).

TV & Film Credits

Television and film credits include GMTV (ITV), Pebble Mill (BBC), Crimewatch UK (BBC), National Lottery Live (BBC), Operation Jigsaw (Pretzel Films), Madagascar Skin (Channel 4 Films), The Worlds End (Working Title Pictures) and Walking on Sunshine (Vertigo Films) along with a number of commercials for major brands including KFC, UNICEF, Totes, NatWest and Lucozade.

From Performing to Casting

In 2000, Mark's love of travel took him to Princess Cruises where he performed with the onboard production teams on several different vessels. This led to an offer of a teaching position at the Fine Arts Conservatory, Grande Prairie, Canada, where for twelve months he instructed students in acting, dance and musical theatre, as well as working as a freelance teacher and choreographer. However, Mark's passion for performing took him back to Los Angeles in 2005, where he worked with Karen Bruce as part of the skeleton team for her brand new show Destination Anywhere. Shortly after he performed with Princess Cruises for a further three years. Mark returned to the UK in 2008 and, after a short internship at Hubbard Casting, was employed as Casting Associate for Pretzel Films. This led to the founding and creation of In House Casting and Agency where he slowly established himself as a freelance casting director, and to date he has cast a number of Short Films, Commercials, Corporates and Music Videos, the Feature Films 'Heavener' and 'Sentry' (both of which are still in production) as well as the workshop of a new musical The Singing Teacher and the very successful 2014 production of Godspell in Concert at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue which he also co-produced.

More recently Mark co-produced and cast the 2015 production of Godspell in Concert (UK Tour) closely followed by Three Guys Naked from the Waist Down (Finborough Theatre) and There be Migrants Here (Theatre503).
